Escape to Cloud Nine was a Guinness World Record attempt performed by Scott Hammell.  Scott went up to an altitude of over 7 200 feet in a hot air balloon and was suspended by his ankles.  Hanging upside-down, he released himself from a regulation straight jacket and over 50 feet of steel chain secured with four pad locks.  All of that and he is afraid of heights

This escape was seen internationally on the popular television show “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” and led to several other television appearances. This also gave Scott the story he needed to break into the motivational speaking circuit.

This large task wasn’t manageable by Scott alone. He had a dedicated team behind him. The team consisted of the following people.
Financial and moral support: The Hammell Family
Method: Dan Truesdale
Balloon Pilot: Steve Davis
Arial Rescue Fire Fighter and Safety Expert: Richard
Head Videographer: Justin Vail
Videographer: Adam Francis
Pre photographer: Jonathan Bielaski
Photographer of the Escape: Chuck Hammell
Documentary Director: Scott Boyd Boydcott productions Scottboyd@mail.com
